The Cubeba pepper (Piper Cubeba), originally from Java (Indonesia), was discovered by John Parkinson during one of his trips in the mid-1600s. Very similar in shape to the Tellicherry Black Pepper, it differs in that it has a small stem at the end of the fruit (berry).
It is a sweetish pepper with flavour nuances tending towards cardamom and clove and a mentholated aftertaste. It goes well with all types of dishes. Ideal for those who like a light pepper with a strong aromatic flavour.
