
Berberé is a spice blend consisting of chili pepper, ginger, cloves, coriander, allspice, common rue, and Ajowan. It sometimes includes herbs and spices that are less internationally known, including some Ethiopian plants, such as korarima and long pepper. Berber is a key ingredient in the cuisine of Ethiopia and Eritrea. It is very versatile as a blend and can also be used in many non-Ethiopian dishes.
